Insta-Friday & Recovering from Christmas

I'm back!  I hope everyone had a wonderful Christmas.  I'm still recovering form the festivities, and I still have a second Christmas this weekend!  It's become almost a tradition to have Christmas after Christmas with the hubby's family.  Works for me since I am such a procrastinator!  Plus, it prolongs Christmas a little bit more.  Win win, right?!  I'd share my photo's from Christmas with you, but I was lame and didn't pull out my camera once!  There were two fancy pant cameras out all night, so I just picked one up and shot away.  The only problem with that is I didn't come home with any!  I have to wait for them all. =(

So, here is what I do have in pictures, from my phone {I always have that on me}

First things first, If you follow me on twitter than you might have seen my post about making the most random Christmas present ever.  Well, I couldn't share pictures then, because it was a Christmas gift, duh... So, here it is...

A panda spewing a rainbow!!!
The whole time I was making it I was thinking to myself 'wow, I can't believe I am making this!' and then I would giggle at myself a bit, and then continue on.  I feel like I should also explain why I would make this for my brother to begin with.  See, he is the most random kid I know.  He loves the goofiest stuff, including panda's and especially panda's spewing rainbows!  Seriously, he has a shirt with it, and it was his facebook picture for a while.  Also, every year he asks for money, and that's not how I roll, so this is what he got!  This was my first attempt at applique, so I'm pretty happy with how it turned out, I even put in a zipper, which scared me a little, but it turned out great.  And, most importantly he loved it!

As it turns out, we are quite the crafty family!  My aunt made this for me and Matt

Isn't that amazing!?!  She has made a few of them now, and a m so excited to get one for myself!  I keep telling her she needs to sell them, they are way too cute!

Also, my little sister {who is 15} made this awesome piece for Matt

I think it is so neat that she took the time to make something so thoughtful and so much fun!

Christmas day was pretty nice, we just ate, drank and hung out.

... see the hanging out going on. =)

Also, since it's Christmas my friend came home for a visit from Rhode Island, so we hit up the thrift stores of course!  I scored majorly on jeans and shoes, but the shoes make a much better picture, see...

I'm pretty sure I paid less than $5 a pair. Yay for thrifting!

I hope you all are enjoyed your week.  Have a marvelous Friday night!

We wish you a merry Christmas

I thought I'd take a second out of my last minute present making/wrapping madness to wish you all a very merry Christmas.  I hope it's filled with good food, great company and tons of fun!  I know mine will be.

See you again after Christmas.  And, if you are anything like me, good luck finishing wrapping!

new button!

I was looking through my pictures online and came across this picture and decided I needed a 'oh so nifty' button of it.

I love it! Definitely one of my favorites from our wedding.
Bahh, now all I want to sit and look through pictures all night.
...I will do the dishes...I will do the maybe

any-who, here is the new button, you know you want to use it! ;)

Falalalala la la la la

Okay, I have gone back and forth on having music playing on the blog.  Sometime when I visit other blogs and  music starts playing it absolutely drives me nuts! BUT, if i love the songs then I usually enjoy it.  So, today I thought I'd give it a whirl and add some Christmas music for the week.  Everybody loves Christmas music, right?  What do you guys think about the music?  Did you scramble to find the player and turn it off?  Or is it fun?

Polyvore... a new addiction in the making!

I have come across a new {and probably addicting} site today thanks to Melissa over at Pineapple Lilly... it's called Polyvore!  Have you heard of it?  It reminds me a little of paper dolls, but for us big girls of course.  I just played around for a minute and created a 'if I actually had somewhere nice to go for Christmas' outfit.

a girl can dream right.

So, if you feel like making one of your own go check it out.

Hey everyone!  It's Friday again!  You know what that means...
random cell phone pictures!  Woot!

Let's see, how about I start with these...
Every year at work we 'adopt' some kids in need and play Santa. This year we got a few girls {cute things, sparkles, easy bake ovens! exciting stuff} so we split up the wish lists and this is what I found for her...
SUPER CUTE BLACK BOOTS! I think she'll love them! I do! ;)

All wrapped up with a sparkly red bow! I love wrapping presents!

It's always a little hard shopping for someone you don't know, but I don't think there is a girl out there that wouldn't love some black boots with a hot pink zipper!

This week we made a 'mock tuna' salad sandwich.  I have named it the garbuna sandwich.
Garbanzo + Tuna = Garbuna

It was delightful and mostly good for you! =)

My sparkle nails before they were destroyed. {see last post}

see, pretty and oh so sparkly!

and what's a Insta-Friday with out a picture of at least one of the pets?!

I'm not sure if he's hiding or playing... maybe both, but now I know why my rug is always disheveled.

Hope you are having a great day! Enjoy your weekend!

All for the sparkle

Remind me again why I continue to paint my nails when the next day they look like this?!

Oh yeah, it's because they look so good {for a little while} all cute and sparkly. :)
Well, I guess I'm off to paint them again! Let's see how much damage I can do tomorrow...

delicious pomegranates

Me and my cousin on our way to get our trees!

He ALWAYS knows when there is clean laundry to lay on!

Actually put on some 'big girl' clothes for my work holiday party. ;)

Holiday nails + yummy tea = a good night

cheers to me finally decorating my tree!

Some of my grandma's vintage 'shiny brite' bulbs. I love them!

I don't know if it's made it to your Chipotle or not, but it's at mine! Woot!
Hope your week was great!  Mine is better now that it's Friday night! =)
I just finished watching Christmas Vacation with the hubby!

It will always be funny... always!

It's begining to feel a lot like Christmas {even if it's sunny and 60*}

It feels a bit more like October than December, but I'm getting in the spirit anyway!  Yesterday I went out and got my Christmas tree!

...and then proceeded to shove it in my Prius!  That's right!  I got an 8 foot tree in my Prius!

be impressed! ;)

 Today I am cleaning house and doing laundry, but it's to Christmas music, so it's fun. {at least more fun}
I made a  Christmas mix  on Spotify and have been listening {and adding to} it all day.  Next on my list is to find my tree stand so I can actually put my tree up!  I think lights and ornaments will have to wait til tomorrow.  Hope you've been having a wonderful weekend!

ahhhhh... Friday!  It's been a long work week, and I'm SO glad the weekend is here. I'm thinking a bath and a book sounds pretty good about now. =)  Here are my random iphone photos from the week.

another one from our beach trip

I want to be back there already

I actually 'did' my hair this week, I needed photographic proof!

tried a new beer, it's pretty good

went out with my good friend that I don't see enough!

There IS an app for that!

Did you know there is a blogger app?! I didn't... until know that is. Kind of exciting, I think. I'm testing it out, so if it looks weird that's why. Let's see, it looks like I can add a picture.
Heres one from tonight. Mmmm, margaritas. Well, I can't tell where that showed up. Guess I'll see later. ;)

Road Trip

I took this week off work with no real plan in mind, just to not be at work.  Plus it was my birthday and Thanksgiving, so it worked out.  We decided last week that we would probably make a trip down to the Santa Barbra area to see our friend, check out some things Matt has been doing down there, and try and visit some family on our way.  Well, on my last day of work I got my first cold in years!  How does that work out?!  Needless to say the trip got pushed from Saturday to Sunday and then to Monday, leaving us with a 3 day trip.  So, we had a jam packed little road trip.  It was fun, cold and all, even though I managed to pass my cold on to the hubby too. =(  I didn't get pictures of our whole trip, but I did get the best part... the beach!

The drive in.
Can you tell I blew my nose 700 times on the way there?

This is how I got my pictures, and why they may be blurry. ;)

so beautiful

first glimpse of the beach

There was a playground between our site and the beach! I just had to ride a dolphin!

we made it to the beach just in time for the sunset

view from our campsite

it was soooo chilly that night, I had to seriously layer up!

The next morning was ABSOLUTE PERFECT beach weather! So awesome!

On our way out that day we saw a bobcat.  He didn't really like that we were watching him, he kept trying to hide behind a bush.  We weren't leaving without a picture though.

We went and checked out this amazing entrance that Matt was working on with our friend Pat.  It's a little hard to tell in the picture, but it is massive! Super neat.

It was a fun quick trip, we didn't do everything we wanted to, but we had a good time.  Next time I think we'll just stay at the beach for a week straight!
